Sports enthusiasts in Mid-Canterbury recently came together for a spectacular evening to honour and celebrate the achievements and contributions made by individuals within the local sports community.

Administrator of the Year: Pauline Anderson

Congratulations to Pauline Anderson, who was awarded Administrator of the Year. Pauline's unwavering dedication and tireless efforts in managing and organising basketball events throughout our region have greatly contributed to the growth and success of BBMC. Her exceptional skills, attention to detail, and passion for the sport have earned her the respect and admiration of players, coaches, and fellow administrators alike. The award was a testament to Pauline's remarkable contributions and the pivotal role she plays in shaping the future of basketball in Mid-Canterbury.


Junior Sportsperson of the Year: Riley Sa

Riley Sa was recognised as the Junior Sportsperson of the Year. Riley's outstanding talent and remarkable achievements in basketball have not gone unnoticed. With dedication, perseverance, and a true love for the game, Riley has become a role model for aspiring young athletes in the region. This award not only recognised Riley's exceptional skills on the court but also highlighted the importance of nurturing and supporting young talent in the sporting community.


Volunteers: Karen Wilson & Eva Kelly

No sports community can thrive without the selfless contributions of passionate volunteers. The evening was an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for two outstanding volunteers, Karen and Eva, who have consistently gone above and beyond for BBMC. Their unwavering commitment to the sport, be it assisting during games, organising events, or providing support to players and their families, has been invaluable. Their dedication and enthusiasm serve as an inspiration to others and demonstrate the power of community spirit in sports.
